Since 1956 Ottesen Machine Company has been providing timely and precision machining services to the Southwest and other areas of the United States. Parts for Aerospace, Defense, Electronic, Research and Recreational industries help to make up our diversified work experience.
Prototyping
A big part of our business is doing small quantity jobs, even singles. However, each part of a small quantity has to bear a greater burden of the cost of set-up, locating materials, and outsourced processes.
That is why we try to keep costs down by offering the following advantages:
- We stock a wide variety of shapes and sizes of material such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass and plastic. Many of them are certified.
- Also, we keep an ample supply of alloy and stainless steel fasteners as well as threaded inserts, self clinching nuts, studs and stand-offs.
- To speed set-up we have a wide variety of tools and fixtures to choose from and do off-line CNC programming.
- Glass bead blasting and Alodine (irridite, Mil-C-5541C) are done in-house.
Production
We have been using CNC since 1981, but CNC alone does not make an efficient run of parts. From the beginning of our company clever thinking has been applied in an effort to reduce the time it takes to make a correct part. Selecting the best combination of automated and manual processes will result in the most efficient method.
Quality
A lot is said about quality and when you think about it, the importance of quality is often greater than that of price and delivery. After all, if the price was good and delivery was good, but the part was bad, then it is all bad.
While that still holds true, however, quality means more than the accuracy of the part. It is all three; accuracy, price and delivery. The weight put on each one is, of course, up to the customer. In any case, a reputation for quality does not result from what one says, but from what one does. Let us show you the quality we have been offering since 1956.
